A Smashing Time!

So far, we are having a blast! Mr Man is a hit with all the relatives, as we expected! It is so good to be home and to see everyone.

Going Home...

Well, not really home. But, as they say, home is where the heart is. And my heart... is definetely in NY!

This Friday, hubs, B and I are heading to NY to see my 84 yr old grandmother and all the rest of my family.

I am so nervous about packing all the stuff I have to pack for B. I feel like I am packing our lives. Portable crib, clothes, bottles, food, bowls, spoons, etc., the list seems to go on forever.

I know it will be a blast though.

No one up there has met Mr Man, so I can't wait to take a bazillion pictures, and get some great memories.

We are all getting older and I know time is short.

Yesterday was a sad day, as my hubs great aunt passed away. It is weird, because even though I have only known her for 6 years, I feel like she was such a special part of my life. She always told Hubs to take care of me, he had caught a good one, and those simple comments, are so cherished. She will surely be missed!

Then, the day before (Dec 1 - my Poppy's birthday) my cousin had a baby boy. Little Anthony was brought into the world. I am so happy for them, and I can't wait to meet the little guy. What's funny is that my dad was on a business trip, in the same city they live, so he was the first family member (on our side) to meet the little man.

It seems in this time of growth, so many things are changing. We are getting older, Mr Man is getting older and wiser, and it really makes me sit down and be thankful for all the blessings in my life.

The truth is, we all get old, and we all die. But to have those special memories, that special time with the one's you love, just means the world to me!

Woke up this morning...

Rested and relaxed.

Normally, I wake up and I am exhausted and rushed, but for some reason, this morning, it is the opposite. Yesterday I did clean my house and I do whole heartedly believe in Feng Shui, so maybe that is it?

Maybe B and I are finally in a routine? I don't know. It just seems like it is a good day, and that my friends, makes me happy!

Not to mention, I watched the VMA's (yes I am a 7th grader at heart) and I saw Johnny Depp. Um... yeah... Need I say more. Did you see him? Holy mother... that man is God's gift to women. Not to mention he lives in the South of France and takes his daughter and son to school on his vespa and then stops by the market everyday. UGH! I envy that life!

I still, truly wish, Hubs, B and I could move to Tuscany or Rome and just say, screw you current life, we want to celebrate PLEASURE! But, realistically, I know that won't happen. Especially now with B. It is WAY to convenient to have awesome friends and parents near by to watch B on a drop of hat.

Maybe one day... we can always dream!

We're Back!

It was a fun journey to the far far away land of 4 hours from here ;-) And Mr Man was awesome the whole way there and back! I am kind of sad we had to return so quickly, but it was a well deserved break in the routine!



Wednesday we took the drive and it went pretty well. Mr Man was fed every 2 hours and it was nice to just head out of town. We stopped for lunch, which was an adventure in itself... it seems B has impeccable timing with food. As soon as the food arrived, he screamed b/c he was hungry. So I trotted off to the car to feed the man, when on our way back in, he decided to have a poop-splosion...all over his clothes. The silly mommy that I am, I didn't have an extra outfit in the diaper bag and so we had to truck to the car again to be changed. Finally, I got to eat some food, and because of the craziness I had to endure, I rewarded myself with a key lime pie (my fav)!



Then, that evening we tried another restaurant near the hotel and again, Mr Man decicded to scream with hunger pains just as the food arrived. We headed to the car again, fed him and returned to enjoy a beer and pasta!

Thursday, Hubs had to head to his meeting, so B and I were on our own. Luckily, hubs has family in the area, so I met up with his cousin and B and I went shopping. OH Yeeeah! I got some great stuff. JCrew - you rock! Baby Gap - could you carry cuter clothing? and BCBG - Damn you Paris line! I love the way your clothes fit and look!

After a long day of shopping, B and I headed to the hotel for a quick nap and then out the door again for some delish Mexican food! Since we never get to see hubs cousin, we decided another slice of Key Lime Pie was in order, so we headed to the restaurant and ordered some slices. It was really a blast getting to hang wih the cuz!

Finally, yesterday, we met up with Cuz and her boyfriend for some awesome breakfast and hot coffee. We said our goodbyes, B was fed again, and we were on the road. Only this time... we stopped and did some more shopping. (YES - both hubs and I really to shop.) After 3 hours of retail therapy, we were finally on the road to head home. We arrived a little later than planned but overall it was well worth the trip.

It was so nice to just get away!

Our cat, Basil, greeted us as soon as we walked in the door, and this morning we picked up our little chihuahua, Mochachino, from his boarding. He was all clean and extatic to see us!

Overall, it was really nice trip and I hope we can do it again soon!

You know you're in Texas...

When you are driving and you reach West, TX which is actually in central TX and where 35 East and 35 West come together to go South. Seriously? I should send this to Jay Leno!

The mini vaca has begun :) So far we have had some key lime pie, B has slept and had a poop-plosion (all OVER his onesie), and we are headed to a brew pub this evening for some delish beer!

You know they say, have a beer a day while you're breast feeding because the yeast is great for the baby! Um... hell yeah! Check that box!

Mini Vaca!

Well freaders, hubs, baby and myself are all headed for a mini vaca. We are not going far, but we are going somewhere to get away from it all. Lord knows there has been a lot of crap going on lately (with which I need not discuss) so we need to de-stress and take a breather!

Hopefully this will re-charge our batteries and get us in a better groove.

Life List

My IBFF, Rachel, got an idea to do a life list, and I thought it was such an amazing idea.

Your write a list of things you want to accomplish in your life. And I am talking really, really want to accomplish.

Then after you freaders read it... you leave me a comment and add to the list :)

So here we go...

1. Live in Italy, for at least a year.

2. Learn to play the guitar so I can sing and write my own songs!

3. When my son is grown, have him say, "When I was growing up, my mom always looked beautiful and sang the most beautiful songs!"

4. Have my apple pie win some award.

5. Get kissed on the Eiffle Tower

6. Make my bed when I get up every morning.

7. Have my cat, Sammy, come back to us, alive and well.

New York, New York!

Since I am 19 weeks pregnant today!! (Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, and he measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. His arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now. His kidneys continue to make urine, and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. This is a crucial time for sensory development: Your baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. If your baby is a girl, she has an astonishing 6 million eggs in her ovaries. They'll dwindle to fewer than two million by the time she's born.) YAY! And everything seems to be a smooth as possible, hubs, my dad and I, decided we are going to have a NY baby shower! Since all my fam is up there and I don't get to see them very often, I thought this would be a phenomenal way of sharing the preggo experience!

I got these adorable baby shower invitations (see what they look like here) and they have been mailed off to respective relatives in NY ;-) I can't wait to have a canoli and some carvel ice cream cake! Oh yeah!!

Beach time baby!!

So most of you know by now that I am headed to Charleston, SC, for the second round of AI. I am so excited to finally get some beach time, but also sad to leave my lovely hubby!
My mom and I set off on Wed morning, at the butt crack of dawn, to Jacksonville, FL, where my awesome granddad and grandmother will be awaiting our arrival. We then leave their house, at around 11pm and make the 4hr trek to Charelston, SC. We will then proceed to wait, again :), for our registration bands and tickets, only to return 2 days later to sing for the AI judges.
This time, at least I know what it is like, and I have my mom, and it seems, the entire country backing my decision, to pursue this crazy thing, once again.
We'll let you know how it goes and if you will see my goofy face on the tube ;-)

Round Two!! Charleston!

Charleston Here I come...
So, as most of you know, I was cut from the first audition, for AI, in Dallas. My mother (my biggest fan) and my husband, have convinced me to head to Charleston to try again. I left the Dallas audition, with heat stroke, and no pass to the next round, but with words of wisdom, from the judges. "Work on your stage prescence, and come to the next city, with the same songs, and we will put you through!"

So my mom and I are headed to Charleston, next week, to pursue my dreams. Please say a prayer, that all my mom's money is not going to waste.
