The White Flag is Waving!

Photograph taken by Simple Treasures Photography

I have admitted defeat against NaBloPoMo! I gave it all I had, but in between a very active 7 month old, spending quality time with hubs and family, I have to give up :(

I am kind of scatterbrained today, so I thought my post should express that, here are some things:

  • Mr Man is so active I can't even keep track. He crawls and pulls up on everything. Not to mention he is talking and putting everything in his mouth. He is just so fun, but exhausting. Last night I had picked him up so many times (he does weigh 19 lbs) my muscles were burning.

  • Friday we had a great dinner with hubs family. It was his dad's birthday, and we had great conversation, cheap wine, a great dinner and plenty of laughs. So fun!
  • Saturday was another packed day, with my mom getting up to shop at 5:30 AM, then getting breakfast, getting my hair done (it looks totallly FAB!) and having dinner with Hubs parents to end the evening.
  • Sunday was a lazy day of watching football and cleaning.
  • Today, I hope to accomplish more cleaning and baking my pumpkin bread for Thanksgiving gifts for my neighbors.
We also got a bit of a scare on Saturday, when we headed to Babies R Us to grab some odds and ends, when we took a look at the carseats. See, I have been doing research on all the carseats and everyone (I have spoken with) said the Britax was over-rated, and there were always recalls. So I opted to check out the Evenflo's. My hairdresser swares by hers! (and she has 3 kids that have used them - one currently still in it). However, when I started asking the employees about the carseats, they told me the Britax was the best way to go (and of couse they are $329.00 and the Evenflo was only $186.00), so I opted to do a little more research. THEN... the guy tells me that the Chicco carseat I currently have only goes to 20lbs. UM... Mr Mobile is already 19 lbs. So I don't know what to do. I obviously don't have the money for a $329 carseat, not to mention, I don't even know if I want that one.

Then... I realized I have to get a new car to get a new carseat (no I am not kidding.) See, we have a Honda Element that I have been driving. Yes, it fits a lot of stuff, however, the drawback is that it has suicide doors - yes you have to open the front in order for the back to open. Yeah... flipping great for throwing a frisbee through (like they show in the commercial) but really shitty for taking a baby seat (that weighs 25 lbs) in and out of while parked next to a car. Not to mention, the back has stadium seating, which is another great quality when you are all of 5 feet tall. Score! My solution is to park in BFE, next to no cars, all the while praying no one parks next to me, and hoisting my entire body weight to help me move my little man's infant carrier OVER the seat. Phew - my muscles hurt just thinking about it!

Just one more thing to add to my already long list.

Please know that when I say I wouldn't change my life for anything, I truly mean it. But let me tell you, when you have a baby.... GET READY to change everything :D

Anyway, sorry to ramble. Hope you all have a fab Monday! And a thrilling Thanksgiving should I not write again!!

Ciao, Ciao!

One exciting day!

Yes... he is wearing a sweater. It's cold over herah!

First, I have to start off with yesterday, when I was cleaning the kitchen, watching the news. I was minding my business, watching B in his walker, when I took a look at this cute news segment that was talking about which celebrity hairstyles would look best with a certain face type. I was vaguely paying attention, when I glanced at the new pixie cut that Rhianna made famous, when (to my surprise), my friend Tanja, showed up on the TV screen. She looked BEAUTIFUL! And I couldn't believe she just showed up. It was so awesome!!

-----------------------------

Today was equally splendid because I got to spend quality time with my mom, while B's aunt watching B. My mom and I went to a warehouse sale. I don't know if you have ever heard of this, but my Mother In Law introduced us to these things, and they rock! It is a little difficult to get used to, simply because you really have to speed shop, but you get the most AMAZING prices. Today, I got an ADORABLE dress (that retailed for $350) for $30, a denim jacket (that retailed for $285) for $30, and a cute long sleeve tee (that sells at Sacks for $150) for $24 bucks. You can't beat that with a stick!

-----------------------------------------

Then, later in the evening we gave Mochachino his first taste of pasta (which is hte picture above). I about died of laughter at the way he just gobbled it up and it looked like Lady and the Tramp. Hysterical!

----------------------------------------

Not to mention, this evening in the bath, Mr Man found the water. Normally, in his baths, he just sits there, chewing on some toy and letting you watch him. But tonight... he splashed in the water, smiled at the camera and thought he was such a big boy!! I got in on our video camera so we could cherish it forever.

----------------------------------------

What an amazing and fun day! Hope yours was equally blissfull!

7 Months!!!

Yesterday Mr Man turned a whopping 7 Months old! Every day he is more precious and more boisterous than the day before!

Some things he is doing now:

  • He is crawling, non stop (see below for a video of that!)

  • He is pulling up on the Ottoman (thankfully it is a soft leather)

  • He has 2 TEETH!

  • He is talking all the time (well, screaming is more like it)

  • He cries when you take something away from him

  • He is more and more feisty (just like his momma!)

  • He is scooching around the Ottoman - while holding on

  • And he gives the BEST Hugs!

Two weeks

Approximately...

We have about 2 weeks until Thanksgiving! Oh Man!

And then... Christmas!

I am so excited! I cleaned out my closet today and found all the Christmas gear.

Our new stockings from Pottery Barn Kids , our tree ornaments, and the tree skirt! I can't wait to put out all my snow globes and the garland. Oohhh! And Christmas lights. Oh man I am SO excited!

I am listening to Christmas music right now and smelling a Christmas scent candle, just to really get in the mood.

Squee!

Any fun Christmas stuff you and your family do?

Can I get a Hell Yeah!!

(A sneak peek! )

Well, this morning, bright and early, we headed to get our family photos taken.

I think they turned out A-DOR-ABLE!

Mr Man could not have been cuter! He was smiling and flirting with the photographer.

My mom bought the perfect outfit and Matt and I coordinated to the little one. Overall it was a fun day with lots of smiles and lots of pictures.

Then... I came home to the TiVo'd Giants game and they won... 30 to 10. HELL YEAH!

This day just couldn't get any better.

I am exhausted from the weekends activites but it was well worth it!

About to Pass out!

Had the garage sale today, and tomorrow we are headed for our first Christmas family photos.

We made out pretty well with the yard sale. The only problem was it was pretty cold and windy, so there wasn't much traffic.

Overall, I would say it was fun and a success. Not to mention I made out with the cutest suede coat (thanks Olivia!!)

Hope you all had a fab Saturday!

I'm headed for bed!

Friday, November 14, 2008

Score!!!

Our adorable helpers!

We had our garage sale this morning and we totally rocked it!!!

We got out around 8:30 AM and as soon as those signs were out, the people came.

It was a little scary to begin with, because some guy came and offered 10 for a 30 dollar item. I told him 15, so he asks his friend (en espanol) for more money. Comes over, gives me 2 fives and before I know it he has it in his car. Bastard!!

Then, some woman switched the sticker on my clothes and tried to get something for $2 that I had marked $7. Luckily, I caught it and she offered $5, which I took.

I would say, overall it was success! We made some cash AND we get another day tomorrow.

Score!

Christmas Cash $!$

Tomorrow I am having a yard sale for some extra Christmas cash. I pray people show up and buy some stuff!

I am so nervous we won't get any people and this stuff will have to stay with me.

Not to mention, I won't make any money.

I just pray everything goes smoothly!

Any yard sale advice?

Oh My Gosh, people!

46 Days is all we have until Christmas.

Can you believe it?

Only 2 weeks until Thanksgiving?

Where the heck has all the time gone?

I have done no shopping, I feel like I am so behind. What am I gonna do?
I feel like there is so much going on, but I am accomplishing nothing. Eek!

What have all of you bought your loved ones?

All About Him

1.Where did you meet? At a Humperdinks, by a pool table.

2.What was the first thought that went through your head when you met? Um... you're a dork. I don't really like you ;-)

3. Do you remember what he was wearing? I have no earthly idea.

4.Where was the first time you kissed this person? Outside my gold Saturn, right before I left for FL.

5.How did he ask you out? Um... I don't think he did? I think I asked him to meet me out for Sushi? I'm kinda forward like that.

6.Where did you go for your first date? The real date (where he asked me out) he took me to this Italian restaurant, which later, we had our rehersal dinner in.

7.How long did you know this person before you became a couple? 3 or so months.

8.Has this person ever proposed to you? Yes sir!

9.Do you and this person have kids together? Yep, and he is the love of my life!

10.When was the first time you realized that you liked this person? After I saw this bizarre movie with him and he took me for Irish food, just so I could have a Guiness.

11.Do you get along with any of the ex's of your partner? I don't really know any of them. Well, actually I know one, and yes we get along. She happens to be a pretty damn good friend :)

12.Do you trust this person? Yep.

13.Do you see you and your partner in your future? Absolutely!

14.What is one thing he does that gets on your nerves? Eats his own lip. Grrrrrosss!

15.What is the thing you do that gets on his nerves? I don't think this post is long enough... HA HA, um, maybe ask him to hang a bunch of crap as soon as he walks in the door from a business trip.

16.Where do you see each other in 15 years from now? Lets see, B will be 16 (almost) and probably wanting a car, so I guess, dealing with a teenage (if not more kids) and getting him ready to drive... EEK! I am assuming Hubs will be bald and I will be fat and tired, so pretty much just enjoying life :D

17.Are you in love? Really?!? Do you have to ask? Of course I am!

*I couldn't think of anything for today's post, so I thought I would blog about him. Hubs - the love of my life ;D If you have a loved one, feel free to join in!!

A Momentous Occasion!!

Not only are we pretty much crawling, and yesterday we had to move the crib down, because Mr Man is so mobile he wants to pull up on the railings but...

WE HAVE A TOOTH!

It is the bottom left (when looking at him) and it is barely poking through!

A very first tooth! Yipppeee!

We are pretty much crawling at this point. If he wants something, he goes and gets it! Once I can get it on camera I will upload.

Have a happy Friday!!

A Meme

I got tagged! I have done this before, but I think it is a great Meme, so I would be happy to do it again. Thanks again Sweetassbabs!

1. I love facials, getting my nails done and being girly. Dressing in dresses, make-up, and all the works. These thing don't get to happen too often now, with the economy and me having a baby, but I still love them with all my heart!

2. With that said, I am probably the biggest tom-boy you will meet. I could shoot the sh*t about football (especially the NY Giants) for hours. I am the one that will turn on Sportscenter, watch Cold Pizza in the morning, and tivo all the NFL games. I think I can thank my dad for this, and my awesome, football loving relatives, all over the country.

3. Lavendar Aromatherapy is really the only way I can relax. It is the only way I know how to unwind. So my favorite past time (besides watching the Giants) is taking a bath, reading a book, and soaking in the scent of Lavender.

4. Playing with B is my new favorite past time. It is true that when you have a child your world changes, and mine certainly has with the addition of Mr Man. Life just wouldn't be the same if he wasn't a part of it!

5. Family is the most important thing in my life. If I could live in a city with all my family, I would sell everything and move there tomorrow.

6. I have always wanted to sell everything and move to Italy. Hubs (at one point) was on board for this idea, until we bought a house, had a baby, and have built in babysitters. Maybe, one day, I will be able to convince him to take the plunge.

7. The only weird thing about me... is I can curl my tongue in a 3 leaf clover. Yes it is weird, but kind of intruiging when you see it in person. Oh, that, and I can juggle pretty well. I have mastered about 4 balls.

* Everyone I know has done this, but if you haven't feel free. It is pretty fun!

A Semi Wordless Wednesday

B had his first Biter Biscuit yesterday, and seemed to like it? He only ate about 3 bites and then gave up, but it was still cute!

Check out my new table! Thanks Mom and Dad! Woot!!

Rock the Vote!

Today, my freaders, is the day that will change history.

To be honest, I am scared, excited, intruiged and worried about the outcome.

I am headed to go wait in line today, with Mr Man, to make my contribution.

And I hope you would do the same!

Playdate!

Today we had a fun day with the girls!

We dressed the kiddos up in their Halloween costumes and got some pics. It was so cute!

Are you Ready for some Football?!?

Bring it on Cowgirls Cowboys! Last year I had to endure smack-talking from every passerby on the street. But, this year my friends, we have a different story.

The injury ridden Cowboys don't stand a chance to my fantastical G-Men!

I have a feeling it is going to be a blowout, but for smack-talking sake, I hope it's a close game and Eli, Plaxico, Brandon and the boys pull it out in the end.

GO GIANTS!!!

Hostess with the Mostess!

Or so I like to think of myself!

Last night we had a Halloween party with all the family members and I just have to say... it was AWESOME.

We cooked some chili, had some sweets, and saw cute trick or treaters.

Mr Man's first Halloween was a twinkling evening filled with toys and sweets, and I have no complaints!
