I just spoke with the woman that is coming to pick up Basil and I feel like I am going to throw up. I just don't know if we are doing the right thing. I am pretty sure B is allergic and there are other reasons why we can't keep him. I just can't cope right now!
He IS going to a great family. She is married with a 4 year old daughter, and they live on a farm, and Basil would be the only animal indoors. I am just so heartbroken I can't even deal with it.
Hubs is physically going to have to give him over to her, because I just don't think I can do it. This was my first pet...ever! It was the first animal Hubs and I purchased together and it almost feels like I am giving a piece of my heart away.
Last night, as if he knew, Basil slept right in the middle of us. And while I was nursing B in the middle of the night, he sat right on my leg, purring like he was telling me he loved me.
I love you Fatty and I am going to miss you so much! I hope you get to go to the best home around and the little girl loves you like I love you.
I have made them promise that if they have ANY problems to please call me and give him back. I will find him another home. They are NOT allowed to give him to any shelters.
I know i have to trust them but I am so nervous. I just want Basil to be happy and loved. With the baby, and all the sneezing, I just don't think we can do that.
Please say a prayer for Basil: Pray that he adjusts well, that is this family takes good care of him, and for all the heart ache hubs and I are going to feel.
Hope your Monday goes well!

What a hard decision, I dont think I could do it. I am sure on some level the wittle kitty knows. But hopefully he also knows how much he is loved.
aw andrea. at least you know basil is going to a loving family, that's got to give you some comfort right?
I am so sorry that you're having to go through this- what a horrible thing! But at least he is going to a good home and will be cared for... I bet they won't care if you call for updates !
Oh this makes me so sad! I'm sure she'll be just fine and at least you know you have the satisfaction of getting her back if it doesn't work out. Give her a good treat before she goes :)
