Facial Time!

So I went for my facial on Saturday, and it was AWE-SOME!! The estiticion was so knowledgable and it was so relaxing, I just couldn't get over it!

I thought I would share some of the things she told me about skin.

First and foremost, you should be exfoliating at least twice a week. I knew this, but I guess not a lot of people do.

She also told me, if you have combination or oily skin, all cosmetics they sell at the mall, i.e. MAC or Clinique or even Chanell are really bad for your skin. Apparently the first ingredient in those make-ups are petrolium jelly (aka vasoline) so the first thing they do is clog your pores, creating hella blackheads.

Her suggestion is to always used Mineral make-up. She said Bare Minerals is ok (aparently they are not very advanced) but J. Ardel is one of the best. Now, this is just for foundation or powder. For eyes, you don't have to worry about that, because that is non porus skin, but for foundation this is a great ip.

She also said that when cleaning your face, if you have make-up on, you should always clean your face twice. Because most of the time when you clean your face once, the only thing you remove is the make-up, and your face is not getting properly cleaned. So always, when wearing make-up, wash your face twice.

These tips should eliminate most blakcheads and "congestion" in your skin.

Hope some of these tips were informative. I know it sure helped me!

K I knew all of those but the last one. I always wash my hands twice (because I use a rediculous amount of lotion) so now I will have to get in the same habit with my face. Cool, thanks!

Wow I never knew I needed to wash my face twice!! I already use mineral makeup because my skin is so sensitive (and I don't know how to apply liquid foundation haha).

Thanks for the tips!

Ok, I love mineral makeup! If you're looking for some you should check out everydayminerals.com - they're not that expensive, and you can even get a free sample kit to figure out what shade foundation/concealer you are! There's also a forum where you can ask for advice from other people who use EM. Anyway, just wanted to let you know!

(And, you're so lucky you went to get a facial! I could definitely use one. They're so relaxing! :) )
