Babies and Momma's

My IBF Kelli sent this to me, and I just had to share it. Beautiful!!

*Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play.

*Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.

*Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.

*Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck and I will buy you one if he comes by.

*Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.

*Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.

*Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.

*Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you..

*Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub andnot get angry.

*Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars. *Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows.

*Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that Godhas given me the greatest gift ever given.

*I will think about the mothers And fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers andfathers who are visiting their children's graves instead oftheir bedrooms, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly, and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore.

*And when I kiss you good night I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer.. It is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask Him for nothing, except one more day

Having a tough time?

Figuring out what to do for Valentines day??

I did this last year here

But this year, I found some new ideas... enjoy!

Pucker Up!
Last year at valentine's, I got a big glass pickle jar from a restaurant, scrubbed it clean, and painted the jar with flowers, hearts, sunshine, clouds, etc. (that may be a touch gay... but whatever)

Then I got a bunch of "fancy" doodle pads and began writing reasons & reminders of how & why I love my husband. It didn't stop there-- I began collecting little poems, quotes, and song lyrics to add to the pot.

When my husband is having a rough day he can open the lid and reach in for a "boost". This jar was easy to make and VERY personal, and he enjoys it year 'round. I love to collect stuff for the jar as well!

Tell the world!

One year when we had no money, my husband spelled "I love you Susan Jo" with cutout letters of cardboard and put it on our garage door. When I came home from work, that was there for all the world to see. He was used to coming up with creative idea's on a budget :-)

Well, this year was no different, we live in Ohio, where there is usually snow on the ground in February. So, my hubby got a red can of spray paint (he had already) and out in our pasture, he wrote his Valentine message to me! It was beautiful! Bright red paint on the glistening snow saying "I love you, the love of my life!" The people he worked with thought it was so neat, the newspaper came and took a picture and it was in the evening news! It is one of my most memorable gifts ever.

Dressing up and staying in!

My husband and I had been married for only 5 months on our first Valentine's together. We really didn't have much money to spend on presents, and my husband is not creative at all, so I knew I would have to come up with something if I want a romantic Valentine's.

So the week before the 14th we decided that we were not going to buy presents, instead we would make the day special by doing something together. Because we are both working, and too tired in the evening to cook, we bought our dinners from a lady, so dinner was all ready.

When we got home from work, we dressed... and I mean dressed. I wore my most beautiful black evening dress, and he wore a black suit and white shirt (he looked so sexy)... While I was doing my hair and my make-up (as if we were going to a fancy place), he quickly set the table, lit the candles, and put on some soft music. We ended up dancing and sitting on the couch, telling each other how much we loved the other one, and in the end it was the most romantic evening of my life. *Le Swoon!*

Memories... at the corner of my mind...

The most creative thing I've ever done for Valentine's Day, is decorate a huge piece of white poster board with memories. I took candy wrappers that I saved from the first date, as well as love notes received from my honey, a receipt from a date that I paid for (since he was broke), a stuffed animal from one of those claw machines (which cost my beloved at least $25 to win), movie stubs, and other little reminders of the special times spent together. I safety-pinned the items in the shape of a heart.

Any Brilliant Valentines day ideas??

Oh Man!

Since Valentines day is right around the corner, I guess I have been noticing how un-loved I am lately :(

Some people have like 900 followers, unfortunately for me... I have 7. Although I LOVE all 7 of you, it still makes me sad.

Not to mention the lack of comments has begun to depress me :(

Where has all the love gone?

Did you know?

That when a man and woman kiss, it sends shivers down the spine? It actually burns calories to kiss! The man feels energized and the woman feels relaxed. Huh?? Who knew?

Men who kiss their wives in the morning live five years longer than those who don't.

People are more likely to tilt their heads to the right when kissing instead of the left (65 percent of people go to the right!)

Falling in love can induce a calming effect on the body and mind and raises levels of nerve growth factor for about a year, which helps to restore the nervous system and improves the lover's memory.

Brain scans show that people who view photos of a beloved experience an activation of the caudate — the part of the brain involving cravings.

Philadelphia International Airport finished as the No. 1 best airport for making a love connection, according to an online survey.

According to mathematical theory, we should date a dozen people before choosing a long-term partner; that provides the best chance that you'll make a love match

A Poem...

Since Valentines Day is right around the corner, I thought I would share with you my favorite poem.

The Invitation

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.
It doesn't interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon...I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life's betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.

I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade itor fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us to
be careful
be realistic
remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true.
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.

If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life from its presence.

I want to know if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,"Yes."It doesn't interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.

I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done to feed the children.

It doesn't interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.

I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep
in the empty moments.

6 Years...

Since the day I met him, I guess I always knew. He was blonde, had piercing blue eyes and had the wittiest sense of humor. From day one he caught my eye. There was always something about him, I just couldn’t put my finger on it.

He was dating a friend of mine and I thought he was so mean to her, so dorky. What did she see in him? Little did I know, after they broke up, I would find myself, falling more and more in love with this man.

Our first date was Sushi, the movie “Amelie” and chocolate gelato. It couldn’t get any better than that. During the movie I grabbed his hand, and we held hands for just a moment, until I pulled away, not even realizing what had happened.

During the next month we enjoyed wine, great Italian food, and great conversation. This was someone I could talk to. I mean really talk to. He had the same interests, we wanted to travel, and I really just couldn’t get enough of him.

Our first kiss was outside my best friend’s house, near my first new car, a gold Saturn. He leaned in and knew what was coming. I shut my eyes and there it was. Brilliant!

I knew at that moment, I was doomed. I had fallen too hard, too fast. But then... it was reciprocated. He fell in love too! We were two peas in a pod, Inseparable!

We haven’t left each other’s side since.

Today is the day, 6 years ago, hubs proposed.

It was a quite Tuesday night. I got off of work and I was tired. I knew we had dinner reservations but I just wasn’t feeling it. We decided to go a little early and he called the restaurant to make sure they could take us. That should have tipped me off, but I was oblivious.
We got to the restaurant and were escorted to the back, to a booth tucked in the corner. We ate, drank and were merry! The food was delish, the wine superb and the company… awesome!
After a glass of Champagne, wine and a huge meal, the desert menu was presented. I was so stuffed but I knew I wanted chocolate. The waiter explained there was a special desert. I couldn’t pass it up… it sounded perfect!
As I waited for the desert, I remember sitting there thanking God for such a wonderful evening, great company and great food! It was truly a perfect way to end a grueling day at work.
As the desert was presented I realized this was no chocolate bar….

A beautiful sapphire and diamond ring on a bed of red roses was placed in front of me. He slid me to the end of the booth and got down on one knee. I didn’t even wait for him to speak. I kissed him and I said yes. I knew this was the beginning of the rest of my life.

As dinner came to an end, I headed for the car, but he had different plans. He took my hand and we proceeded to the penthouse suite. As I walked in the door there were rose petals on the floor. As I stared at my hand, I quietly wept. This was the happiest day of my life.

6 years later, I would have to say, I am still just as happy I said yes. Just as happy I didn’t leave town, and just as happy that we are a family.

Love you Hubs!!! Happy 6 year anniversary. Mwwaaa!

Persons With Penis'

Clueless Cat makes a great point. She wonders why men don't take the reins more often? Why it is always us girls making the phone calls, sending the emails or making plans? I tend to agree with her.

Wouldn't you love to come home and have your man have planned out the whole weekend? Who cares if it screws other things up. The idea and the thought that would go into that would be thrilling!

It came to my attention the other day that men just don't have the same brains. I mean, I have had NUMEROUS converstations with hubs about making the bed. His response: Why would I make a bed, I am just going to get into 12 hours later. My response: Because it is nicer to get into a freshly made bed with crisp sheets, than have to deal with yesterday's mess.

Well, in talking with my BF on the phone the other day, apparently she had the SAME converstaion with her hub. His response: How long does it take to make a bed? 30 - 60 seconds? Ok... in a year, that would mean, I would spend 2,000 minutes making a bed. Ridiculous. What a waste of time!

I think Men's brains must not compute certain things. I truly think that book, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, must have some ring of truth to it. I just don't get why men don't take more control?

Anyone else run into issues like that?

Love Letters

Dear Sleep:

It is me, Andréa, I know you probably forgot who I am, since you haven't been by in a while, but I was hoping by writing you this letter you would come back. I remember, back in the day, I used to lay my head on the pillow and poof! there you would be. Carressing and holding me for hours at a time. Now it seems, every hour, on the hour, you leave me for someone else?

Have I not been good to you all these years? What can I do to win back your heart??

Love,
Your very sleep deprived friend!
-------------

Dear Sun:

I can't seem to understand why you come and go, and don't ever want to stick around. Remember, this is Texas! In February you are supposed to be here all the time. Have you found someone else? Is Miami treating you better? I am sorry if they are, but just know that we here in Texas miss you! Remember back in the summer of 07 when I would go out every afternoon to greet you! Remember my barely there bikini and my pool? Maybe you and Sleep should talk so all of us could get together again!

Talk it over and get back with me!

Thanks,
Your Albino, Italian, Sleep Deprived Friend!

Happy LURVE Day!!

Happy Lurrrve Day folks!

I totally saw this on someone's post and I forgot who it was. Darn, I am a bad bloggy friend.

She posted about what Love is to different people.

SO I thought I would share with you, what Love is to me.

Love is... a baby that you've never met meaning the WORLD to you!

Love is... a hubs that takes care of you, even when your tired, fat and cranky!

Love is... friends that call, just because!

Love is... Daddy's that come over and give you things that only mean something to you! (i.e. The sports Illustrated of the Giants win!)

Love is... Mom's that call to check up on you daily ;-)

Love is... Family members that send you care packages, just so you know they care.

What is love to you??

Whether you have that special someone to kiss and hold, or just someone who means more than you can share? Tell them so today!

Forget about the gifts and the glamour (don't get me wrong, I still want some roses) just remember that today is about everyone who shows you love, every OTHER day of the year!!

Valentines Day Ideas

So I thought since V-day is tomorrow, I would give some great ideas for V-day surprises. These are great if you've only known him a week, or have been married to him for 10 years :)

Heart Shaped Guitar Picks:
My boyfriend and I had only been dating a short while before Valentine’s Day, so I didn't really want to get something super expensive. I just wanted to do something small and meaningful. He plays guitar, so I went out and bought a dozen guitar picks. I took a pair of scissors and trimmed them into hearts. Then I filed down the edges and put them all in a little clear bag tied with a ribbon. I made a card and I picked out candy hearts with the messages I liked on them. When we were exchanging our gifts on Valentine's Day, I gave him the picks and he loved them. Then I gave him one candy heart at a time and told him he had to do everything they said on them, like "hold me," "hug me," and "kiss me." He loved the whole thing.--submitted by Sophie

Gifts on the Hour:
For Valentine’s Day one year, I decided to give my fiancé a gift every hour he was at work. When he got to work at 8:30, a simple little card was there waiting for him wishing him a happy Valentine's Day. At 9:30, his breakfast was delivered (an omelet, hash browns, sausage, toast and orange juice). At 10:30, I sent him a huge batch of balloons. I made his favorite cream cheese cookies and had them delivered by one of my good friends wearing a clown costume at 11:30. At 12:30, a pizza and a soda came for his lunch. I sent him a huge gift bag of candy at 1:30. By this time, everyone he worked with congregated in his office on the hour waiting to see what was coming. He felt so special. I think everyone was pretty jealous. At 2:30, a stuffed frog was delivered that said, "I love you" on it. And finally at 3:30, I delivered a dozen red roses in a vase to him to say, “I love you!” I had so much fun planning the whole day, and he really loved it. -- submitted by Kelly

A Memory box for My Man:
This year, I’m planning ahead for Valentine’s Day. I am collecting mementos from the things we’ve done all year long to put in a Valentine’s Day box. I’m making it a point to save things that are meaningful to him. For example, I took a cardboard coaster from a pub we visited on the coast. He tried his new favorite beer for the first time that day, and I think he’ll be thrilled that I remembered. Another thing I’ve saved so far is my ticket from a college basketball game we went to with is dad. I’m attaching a little note to each thing saying something about the memorable event. I’m also throwing in a few of the love notes we have left for each other.

Commuter Valentine's Gift:
My husband used to leave at 5 a.m. every morning to commute to work while I was going to college. One Valentine's Day, I place a few commuter comfort items in his car the night before. I had gotten a good deal on a heated massaging seat cover. I also bought him a CD of his favorite singer, some coffee shop gift certificates and chocolate-covered coffee beans (which he loves). He thought it was a nice surprise on a cold Valentine's Day morning!

Pleasure Hunt:
For Valentine's Day last year, I sent my man on a "Pleasure Hunt". He woke up to a large box wrapped up with Valentine's paper, I filled it with 5 heart-shaped Mylar balloons, so when he opened the box the balloons would rise and give him his first clue, the clue read, "This is a Pleasure Hunt. Follow the hearts, and if you play your cards right you’ll end the day feeling nothing but pleasure.” The first card led him to a local spa where I treated him to an hour-long massage and an early lunch. When his lunch at the spa was served, he was given his next clue and a gift card. These led him to a local CD store where I had a romantic CD held for him and his next clue, which told him to look in his glove compartment. There he found his next clue, which told him to call me (so I knew when he was on his way) and to bring the CD to the front desk of a local hotel. When he got to the front desk, he was given a package I had held for him, and another clue. It was a key to a room in the hotel with a little tag on it that simply said "I’m Waiting". When he walked into the room, I had candles, rose petals, whipped cream, grapes, strawberries, champagne, cream cheese dip, a heart shaped tub, and me in sexy lingerie, all waiting for him. I gave him his attire for the evening - silk boxers and a matching blindfold. The night was amazing for both of us!

A Funny Valentine:
My boyfriend and I are broke students attending different colleges that are four thousand miles apart from each other. We can't be together for Valentine's Day this year, but I have a few ideas as to how I can still make the day special without spending a lot of money. I’m going to send him a box full of little things that will let him know how I feel. First, I’m gonna rip up twelve little pieces of rice paper, put on some dark red lipstick, and kiss every piece. I figure if I can't send him a dozen red roses, I can send him a dozen red kisses. He and I love the song "Funny Valentine," and I love to sing it all the time. But he has never heard me sing at all, so I am going to record myself singing our song and put the CD in the box. And the final addition to my Valentine's Day box will be a little on the seductive side. I have a black satin thong with crystal strings that I bought months ago at Victoria's Secret. I have not worn them yet because I am waiting until I see him. So, I am putting that in the box as a kind of "promise" to wear it as soon as we see each other this summer. I'm sure that he'll absolutely love it!

And my personal fav!!

Trade Candy for “Treats:"
A week before Valentine’s Day I am going to hide little cinnamon hearts around the house. I’m going to give my boyfriend a decorated jar and explain that he needs to find and collect them throughout the week to “spend” on Valentine’s Day. Then when the day finally comes, I'll give him a menu of options he can use the candies to (i.e. Massage = 10 hearts, Homemade Dinner for Two= 2 hearts, etc.). I think it'll be fun, and it will ensure that he gets the Valentine's Day he wants rather than one I think he wants!

Hope these give you some great ideas!!

P.S. Hubs if your reading this. No, I did not put my gift idea on here... that would ruin it! Mwwaa!

Super Tuesday!

Well folks, it is Super Tuesday, and since I have no real interest in blogging about politics, I thought I would write somet things down that are Super and really Not So Super.

Super: We started decorating the nursery
Not So Super: We are only at the removal of fugly wallpaper. Seriously, the wallpaper reminds me of Bob Ross and Happy Trees. There are flowers and it is yellow. Enough said.

Super: It was 85 degrees outside yesterday
Not So Super: My sugar was screwed up so I couldn't drive my convertible because I couldn't see straight

Super: Went and saw the doc and Mr Brady is fine and dandy in there. Not to mention I get a bonus sonogram on the 18th, just because!
Not So Super: My sugar still sucks and I still have to watch my diet

Super: Today it is raining. MMM... I love rainy days inside.
Not So Super: Hubs had to wake up at 4am for a meeting and he won't be here to celebrate the rain with me.

Anything super or not so super about your Tuesday?

Love/Hate

Love: That I get to wake up every morning next to my wonderful hubs! ~We both work from home, so there is no alarm here adn we normally wake up with a smile and a kiss. *sigh*
Hate: That I have to run out of bed in the morning for fear I might sneeze and pee on myself b/c my little Brady is hanging out on my bladder :)
Love: That I have so many freaders (friends + readers) that care when I am coughing phlem!
Hate: That I am still coughing phlem and I can only breathe out of one nostril and I have this incredibly important party tonight!
Love: That I have so much of Brady's stuff (he won't be here for 12 more weeks) that I don't know what to do with
Hate: That I have so much to do around the house before my man arrives. Including, remove Christmas stuff (this weekend, I HAVE to), paint the nursery, move my office. EEk! So much shtuff!
*And I will leave you three loves... just cuz I can :D
Love: That Brady kicks me all the time. Especially when Daddy's hand is on my tummy and I tell him to kick and he does. It makes me swoon!
Love: My blog. My crazy blog that lets me get the werdest things out of my head.
Love: My hubs for taking such good care of me when I am sick and pregnant.
The night before last I sounded like the Taco bell commercial... Cheesy, Crunchy, blah blah. All I wanted was a bean burrito (why... don't ask!) I haven't eaten at Taco Bell since I was say... 14? My bff E and I used to get them all the time. So I tell hubs I really want one and I need tissues with lotion and I need children's tylenol (cherry, b/c I found out bubble gum is NASTY!) and he went out and came back with all the stuff. Perfectly. Gotta love him!
So... since I totally stole this idea from Jersey Girl, play along and tell me what you love/hate!
Ciao for now!

Mr. Mochachino!

So, as most of you know, I have a brilliant (I use that word lightly) chihuahua, named Mochachino. He is adorable, has a brain the size of a pea, and he is by far, my favorite dog (even though I only have the one!)

Sometimes I look at the little bugger and think, man, I wish I had his life! So I thought I would share with you....

A Day in the Life of Mochachino!

At around 9AM, the little man peeks his head from under the covers, shakes his body, does a little stretch and then heads to the dog door for his morning pee. He then, walks inside, drinks a little, eats a little, and proceeds to the upstairs (where I have my office) to lay comfortably on the couch upstairs. He is usually accompanied by a cat or two. They snuggle and eventually fall back asleep.

In the afternoon, when I am done working and heading out the door, he will race down to see me, give me a little whimper and then proceed back to the bed, under the covers, where he will sleep until I get home.

Overall, he is a wonderful, quiet dog, that I love dearly!

So yesterday, I proceed with my shcedule, as does Mochachino.

Now, I have to preface this by saying, when Mocha does get mad, which isn't very often, he likes to take toilet paper and rip it up into tiny pieces so that I have to pick it up off the floor, in a million different spots.

Yesterday, apparently, was a day Mochachino was not too happy with me. I walk upstairs to find a whole piece of toilet paper lying on the floor. Mr Mocha dashes into the other room. I pick up the toilet paper, yell at Mocha to stop, and he comes sashaying out of the room, looking like, "I did nothing wrong... what did I do??" (Can't you just see his puppy dog eyes??)

As he proceeds in my office to tell me how good of a dog he has been, I notice little white specs all on his face! My camera broke, but if you would have seen it, it was priceless! Mr Mocha - caught! White handed!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Here's wishing you and your family a very merry thanksgiving. May you eat a feast, savor the flavors and enjoy all who you dine with.

Today I am thankful for many things

1. I am very thankful for my hubs and new baby on the way
2. I am very thankful for my family and in-laws
3. I am very thankful for my animals. Mochachino (my chihuahuah) Basil, (My fat cat aka Fatty Mc Fatterson) and Sammy (my skinny, playful cat aka Sammer Bammer)
4. I am very thankful for my friends and Bloggin Buddies (all of you mean more than you know!)
5. And finally I am thankful for all the possessions God has given to us.

May God bless you, so that you will be safe on your journey!

Love Letters

So I was catching up on my Oprah's and I saw this show about the greatest love story ever told. Now... the first story they started off with about the guy in the concentration camp *holding back tears* really was just amazing. It could have been one of the greatest love stories ever
told!

So there was this other story about this woman and man who had written each other love letters for 27 years. They said there were 3 components

1. How I feel today...
2. I love you because...
3. A question of the day... such as "How do I feel when you're sick? How do I feel when you're short with the children? How do I feel when you do something special for me?"

What was also said on the show, was somedays they were mad at each other, some days they didn't speak except for giving each other a love letter. The wife would write... I love you today. Because, that day, it was a choice to love him. Nothing just came out.

She said it takes only 5 minutes and they write it before they go to bed (in a spiral notebook) and then they swap... sometimes not saying a word, other times embracing.

I thought, since I am commited to NaBloPoMo... I should commit to my marriage and attempt to write a love letter a day, to my adoring, wonderful, devoted hubs!

What is your love secret? Date night away from the kids?? Love texts? Telling the person, simply, that you love them? Or something new and inventive? Share with the rest of us!

Love/Hate

Thoughts of Nothingness
Love: that I am doing this project for my mom and I get to look at old pictures
(some of my fav's are above)

Hate: that I am stressing about the Thanksgiving menu
Love: that the maid came yesterday and I have a beautiful clean house!
Hate: that my dishwasher is still broken and that the part is no where in sight
Love: that in 2 days I get to change my hair color
Hate: that the total cost is going to be outragious!
Love: that I only work until noon 5 days a week
Hate: that my hair is only half curly
Love: that it is almost a holiday where family's can get together and eat... mmm... food!
